Rohini Mukherjee
Global Partnerships, Institutional Learning & Education
Rohini manages the Global Partnerships portfolio
for Naandi that forges innovative, strategic alliances with bilateral partners,
international institutions, corporates, and governments to channel their resources
both financial and intellectual into enhancing the reach and effectiveness of Naandi's
pro-poor interventions.
The Institutional learning portfolio at Naandi
is akin to a programme audit. Rohini joined Naandi in 2005 as Manager, Global Partnerships.
She has a Masters degree in Social Work from the Delhi University and has, for over
a decade, worked in remote rural areas of Bengal, where she was also the founding
member of a grassroots not-for-profit advocacy group that took up democracy and
governance issues on behalf of the rural underprivileged.
She professes that her real education happened
during her years in Bengal. Understanding a village economy, its organic links with
climate, geography and the history of the region, and its political structures
official & unofficial, and their impact on the lives of the ordinary people are
the sensitivities she brings into managing the Global Partnerships portfolio where
her focus is to raise resources and support to reach out to the most marginalised
communities.
She loves to drive, enjoys Indian classical
music and reading fiction and history.
